Bánh Khọt is one of the popular Vietnamese foods for foreigners. They call “Mini shrimp pancakes” in English, but not only shrimp. For example, you can order quail egg, octopus, crab stick and mix them besides shrimp at this restaurant.
Maybe you know Bánh xèo which is similar to Bánh Khọt, this is more popular than Bánh Khọt. Bánh xèo is yellow color because they add turmeric to rice flour. But Bánh Khọt is not yellow but white color and smaller.

The place is a very crowded area where you cross the bridge “Cầu Ông Lãnh” from district 1 to district 4 and get down the bridge, turn left immediately. There are many motorcycles parked at the entrance, but don’t worry, the staff will organize them.
The interior of the restaurant is fashionably decorated in a traditional Vietnamese atmosphere. After ordering, about 10 minutes later, they bring the dishes on the table.
So many vegetables! In fact, not only Bánh Khọt almost Vietnamese food are rich in vegetables and less in oil, so they are very healthy food.

As mentioned above, the raw material is rice flour, so the dough is white. Put the ingredients in this dough and add the green onion to the plate. This time, we ordered quail eggs and shrimp for the ingredients. I also posted a picture of the menu so please have a look. The menu is in Vietnamese only, but you can order by pointing with your finger as there are pictures.
First off, put the small vegetables and Bánh Khọt on the large vegetable, and roll them several times. And then, attach it to Nước mắm(fish sauce) and eat. You can’t do it well if you’re not used to it, but by the time you finish eating, you’ll be better.
Fantastic! I was wondering if it was a little bit few, but I was full when I finished eating because a lot of vegetables. I stopped adding additional orders.
